Women's Wage Revolution
Understanding The $20 an Hour Wage
Why a $20 an hour wage?
Because in today’s world that’s what it would take for a single mother with at least 2 children to live above the poverty level. Not just to barely get by, but to have good housing in a safe neighborhood, drive a reliable car, have family major medical insurance, and even a small savings account. The Wage Revolution has started out as a home cleaning ministry for single mothers that pays about $20 an hour in a total pay package.

on the Compared to Minimum Wage webpage)
Can the Wage Revolution work for any business or company?
Yes, this concept simply works by spreading more of the business’s profits on the lowest level workers instead giving most of the profit to the higher level workers. This means that the CEO, CFO, etc, of a large business would not make $10 million or even $50 million a year while the lowest level workers earn around $7.00 an hour, which is the way many companies operate today. Of course a higher management worker should always be paid more than a lower level worker, but just not in the excesses that we see all around us.
Explaining the $20 an hour wage in the
Women's Wage Revolution Home Cleaning Ministry:
A single mother in our business ministry is paid at the rate of 66% of a $25.00 an hour retail house cleaning rate. This equals a pay rate for a single mother of $16.50 per hour. Total company cost for this worker will exceed 77% + - when adding in matching FICA, cleaning supplies, job training, etc. We operate on a 23% + - total overhead and management cost, which has been very challenging but totally doable. This single mom will also earn an average tip rate of $3.50 per hour which then pays a mother a total compensation of $20 an hour.
Example #1
A single mom can clean:
4 X $50.00 Two Hour Cleaning Jobs = $200.00 in Total Job Revenue per day
*This averages 8 hours worked + 4 X 15 minutes = 1 hour commute time per day.
The single mothers portion earned:
66% X $200.00 Total Job Revenue = $132.00 earned per day
Tipping Will Average $3.50 per hour X 8 hours = $28.00 in tips per day
Total Daily Pay:
$28.00 in Tips + $132.00 cleaning earnings = $160.00 Total per day
Total Weekly Pay:
5 Days X $160.00 = $800.00 Total per week
Total Yearly Pay:
52 Weeks X $800.00 = $41,600 Total Pay Package per year
*Includes paid vacation, sick leave, etc.
Example #2
A single mom will earn the same amount of money
by cleaning 2 X $100.00 (4 hour cleaning jobs) in a day.
*In this example the commute time is reduced
to only 2 X 15 minutes = 30 minutes per day.
Example #3
A single mom will earn the same amount of money
by cleaning 1 X $200.00 (8 hour cleaning job) in a day.
*In this example the commute time will be
only to one job = 15 minutes for the day.
*After calculating all Earned Income Credit, child tax credit, day care credit, healthcare allowance, automobile allowance, and applying this towards all Federal, State, and FICA taxes, this workers pay package will equal $41,600 annually after paying all taxes.
